The conference hotels are the Providence Courtyard by Marriott and the Providence Biltmore.

When you arrive at the conference, check in at the SIA information desk at the Courtyard to obtain your conference materials.

Reservations must be made directly with the hotels (please call their local number), mentioning the convention, “Society for Industrial Archeology (SIA,)” to obtain the special rate.

Reservations must be made by Tuesday, May 11, 2004. All reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid a no-show charge of one night’s room and tax.

The hotels are within a three minute walk to The Rhode Island Convention Center where the paper sessions and annual business meeting will be held. State and local taxes, currently 12%, must be added to the hotel rate.

Hospitality Suite

The hospitality suite will be located in the Union Station Brew Pub located under the conference hotel. A section of the pub will be set aside for SIA members on Thursday and Friday evenings. They offer a variety of brews – cash bar – and appetizers and serve interesting fare in their restaurant section.
