Travel Directions and Travel Discounts with American Airlines, Amtrak or Avis


Travel Directions
Directions from the South to the Marriott:
  • A – Take route I-95 through Connecticut and Rhode Island to exit 22A – (Downtown/Memorial Boulevard). Proceed along the exit 22A exit ramp for 0.3 miles to the first stop light on Memorial Boulevard.

  • B – Proceed east on Memorial Boulevard for 0.2 miles to Exchange Street. Turn right on to Exchange Street. Proceed south on Exchange Street for 0.05 miles to Exchange Terrace. Turn right on to Exchange Terrace and proceed west for 0.1 miles. Turn right on to ramp leading to the Main Entrance of the Hotel.

Directions from the North to the Marriott:

  • Take route I-95 South from Boston and points North to exit number 22C-B-A (Downtown/Providence Pl.) Merge on to Memorial Boulevard via exit number 22A on the left-toward Downtown. Continue to the first stop light on Memorial Boulevard. Then follow the directions above under paragraph (b) above.

Directions to the Biltmore:

  • Follow the directions to the Marriott. Pass the Marriott entrance ramp and immediately turn left on to Dorrance Street. Bear right. The Biltmore Hotel main entrance and doorman’s station is on your right.

BY AIR:

  • Providence’s airport is T.A. Green (PVD). It is served by nearly all the major airlines from all the major hubs. To find out more about services at the airport check out the website: http://www.pvdairport.com. There is a shuttle bus, Aero-Airport Limousine Service, from the airport that leaves hourly, on the hour, from the terminal to all major downtown hotels. The trip from the airport to the Marriott takes about fifteen minutes and costs $9.00.

BY RAIL:

  • Providence is located on the former Shore Line Route of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad. Amtrak The Providence Amtrak Station is located at 100 Gaspee Street, about 0.3 miles from the Marriott. Taxi service is available. Providence is located in the Northeast Corridor and is currently served by about twenty trains a day from Washington, New York and Boston. These include Acela and other trains featuring Business Class Service.

Travel Discounts with American Airlines, Amtrak or Avis
  • SIA has a contract with American Airlines for 10% off the lowest-priced tickets purchased more 30 days in advance of departure, or 5% off of tickets purchased later, for travel on dates from June 8 to 15. Registrants who wish to take advantage of this should call the American Airlines group sales office at 1-800-433-1790 and use authorization number A2564AU. Tickets may also be purchased through travel agents with this discount by using the authorization number.

  • Amtrak offers a Convention Fares discount of 10% off the lowest NON-DISCOUNTED fare to Providence for June 7 to June 16. Attendees can call 1-800-USARAIL (1-800-872-7245) or contact their travel agent and mention Convention Authorization Fares Code X82C-916 when making reservations. Fare is valid on sleepers, business class or first class but is valid for Metroliner and Acela for weekends only
  • Avis Rent-A-Car is offering a special rate to attendees of the 33rd Annual Conference. The daily rate for weekdays ranges from $52.99 to $75.99, depending on the car size, and from $33.99 to $75.99 for weekend days.
