TRAVEL DIRECTIONS

Group travel discounts have been arranged with Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines and with Amtrak.

By Air: Milwaukee-based Midwest Airlines, our official conference airline, is offering a special group discount to attendees. It’s reasonable fares include complimentary chocolate chip cookies on every fl ight! Tickets on Midwest Airlines can be purchased online at www.midwestairlines.com by entering the convention discount code CMZ1445 in the promo code box or call the reservations department at 1-800-452-2022 or your travel agent and mention CMZ1445.

General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) is also served by most major airlines. For airport information, see www.mitchellairport.com. Shuttle service from the airport is available from Airport Connection for $11.00 one-way. For more information or advance reservations, call 1-800-236-5450 or see www.mkelimo.com. Taxis are about $25.00 each way.

Amtrak serves Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport. With seven trips Monday through Saturday and six on Sunday, it is a convenient 15-minute trip to downtown Milwaukee. Oneway fare is $6.00. The downtown Amtrak station is about 3 blocks from the conference hotel. For information on this route, see www.amtrakhiawatha.com.

By Train: For discounted group fares from Amtrak, use convention fares code X26G-936 when making a reservation at 1-800-872-7245, at an Amtrak ticket counter, or with your travel agent. Convention fares cannot be booked online. Schedule and fare information is available at www.amtrak.com. The convention fare is 10% discount off the lowest available fare and is valid for travel from May 30 to June 8. Note that this discount cannot be combined with other discounts, such as senior fares.

By Car: Milwaukee is easily accessible from the west and south via I-94 or from the north via I-43. There are several construction projects affecting overpasses and freeway exits. By Ferry: Lake Express operates a high-speed vehicle and passenger ferry across Lake Michigan between Muskegon, Michigan and Milwaukee with three round trips daily. The first automobile and passenger-carrying high-speed ferry built for service in the continental United States. Fares for 2-1/2 hour trip are $59 per vehicle plus $50 per adult one-way.
