Saturday Tours (choose one of two) – approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

S1/S2 – North & East: This tour offers a morning at Hendricks Holdings in Beloit, Wisconsin, including the repurposed Ironworks, process tours at American Aluminum Extrusions and American Construction Metals, and lunch in a recently restored hotel. Afternoon will be spent at the Illinois Railway Museum, the biggest railroad museum in the United States.

S3 – West: This tour will take a walk through the past with a visit to the Silver Creek Museum. While there, members of the Stephenson County Antique Engine Club will run their fully restored 130 ton Cooper Corliss Engine, as well as provide tour participants with a ride powered by a restored 1912 Heisler Locomotive Works steam engine. The museum features a cross section of rural America with numerous examples of local industrial products. Other stops include machine tool builder Bourn & Koch, the new Lowe’s Regional Distribution Center and an amazing Oliver Tractor museum.

Please Note:

All Friday and Saturday tours depart from the Fairfield/Hilton parking lot and include lunch.  Breakfast and dinner are not included in the Fall Tour package on either day.  However, meals are available in the hotel or in nearby restaurants.  There are several restaurants of various kinds and prices within walking distance of the Fairfield Inn, and there are many more within a short drive on State Street.
