HOTEL AND TRAVEL INFORMATION

HOTEL: Our hotel is the Wyndham Wilmington at 700 King Street. Rates are $89 for singles and doubles; $99 for triples, if reserved by September 29, 2004. PARKING: Parking is available adjacent to the Wyndham in a garage operated by the Wilmington Parking Authority. Price is $9 per night for hotel guests.

AIR: Wilmington is served by the Philadelphia airport. SEPTA commuter train/bus service (http://www.septa.com/ or 215-580-7800), connecting through Philly's 30th Street station can bring you to Wilmington from the airport, but can take hours. It is much faster to take a shuttle. Call Delaware Express Shuttle at 1-800-648-5466. Reservations are required. Cost is $32 one-way, $64 roundtrip. Discounts are available for 2 or more traveling together and for reservations made online at www.delexpress.com.

TRAIN: Amtrak provides frequent service to Wilmington and is a great way to see some of the local industrial sites on your way. The station is located at French Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard, just blocks from the Wyndham. Amtrak is offering a Convention Fares discount of 10% off the lowest available fare to Wilmington from October 10 to 20, 2004. It cannot be combined with other discounts. Please call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or contact your travel agent and mention Convention Fares code X39E-925 when making reservations. Convention Fare is valid on Metroliner and Acela service except for holiday blackouts. Also valid with Sleepers, Business Class, or First Class seats with payment of the full accommodations charges. BY CAR: From Philadelphia and North (I-95 South): Exit I-95 South at Exit 7A to Delaware Ave. (State Route 52 South). Continue south on SR 52, which will become 11th St., into downtown Wilmington. Turn right on King St. Hotel is on left. From Baltimore and South and West (I-95 North): Exit I-95 North at Exit 6 (State Route 4, Maryland Ave. to Martin Luther King Blvd.). At bottom of ramp continue straight north on Adams St. Turn right on 7th St. Turn right on King St. Hotel is on left. From New York City, New Jersey, and New England (New Jersey Turnpike/I-295 South): After crossing the Delaware Memorial Twin Bridges at the southern end of the New Jersey Turnpike, follow signs for I-95 North to Wilmington. Directions to the hotel from I-95 North are then the same as “From Baltimore” above.
